Our October Power Player is David Saldana, a manager in Houston at the BNSF Terminal.

David’s superpower is Accountability! In the words of Automotive Ramp Operations manager Chris Carlsen, who nominated David, “Over the last year, we have seen him grow as a leader as he continues to learn running a larger yard. The operation continues to get safer and other stakeholder satisfaction is through the roof. When he took over, our stakeholders were frustrated by the number of claims, baying accuracy and responsiveness to requests among other quality complaints. Over the past year, those complaints have virtually disappeared. The level of accountability and pride he takes in his position is so refreshing. Please know we are grateful for all the hard work he does and his contribution to the success of this facility.”

David has accomplished all of this while setting volume records on several levels. The terminal he and his team works at has set two month specific records and one all-time monthly record. He’s run a very safe operation while operating at +80% & +90% capacity for the last few months.

He doesn’t stop there — from monthly safety drawings to organizing an outing for the entire team to Top Golf for achieving their safety and quality goals, David is always looking for new ways to let his team know how appreciated their hard work is. Congratulations, David!
