Power Player – December 2024
Tom Morgan
Terminal Manager at Lafayette, IN
Our Road & Rail Services Power Player this month is Tom Morgan. He’s worked at a plant in Lafayette for 14 years in a number of roles, most recently as Terminal Manager for the past 4 years.
For all of those 14 years, the associates that have worked with and for Tom have been injury free, and the Lafayette site is now in the top 4 injury free sites in the entire company — that’s why his superpower is Safety! Tom’s patience in overcoming challenges sets a great example for his team. His consistent approach earns the respect of his associates, and he goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands how to work together safely.
Richard Burkhalter, AVP Automotive/Mechanical, nominated Tom for the Power Player award. In his own words, “He is very sociable and fair when it comes to his staff and treats them the way he wants to be treated. Tom’s leadership has touched every associate that has worked in Lafayette, and built a culture of safety that will continue. We as a company could only wish that every employee we have were a Tom Morgan.”
For 14 years, Tom has made sure each associate goes home safely to their families. Road & Rail Services is always focused on a safety first culture, with a commitment to the health and welfare of every team member at every level, and Tom’s superpower exemplifies this core value. Congratulations, Tom!
